Preheat the oven

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

Cook the pasta

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add salt and pasta. Cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Cook the bacon

Cook 6 slices of bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove to paper towels to drain. When cool, crumble into pieces. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon fat.

Make the cheese sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly. Cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add cheddar cheese. Stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix the mac and cheese

Add cooked pasta to the cheese sauce. Stir to coat evenly. Set aside.

On a floured surface, roll or stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a pizza pan or parchment paper. Brush the dough with reserved bacon fat.
