Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.

2
Prepare ingredients

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves. Grate the cheddar cheese.

3
Combine ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, milk, 1/4 cup of the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

4
Add cheese

Add 1 1/2 cups of the grated cheddar cheese to the meat mixture. Mix until the cheese is evenly distributed throughout.

5
Shape meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Press the mixture evenly into the pan, forming a smooth top.

6
Add ketchup and cheese topping

Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese on top.

7
Bake meatloaf

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

8
Rest and serve

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
