Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
In another large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture.
Stir the mashed bananas into the butter mixture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually stir the flour mixture into the banana mixture until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
