Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in 1 cup of cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Whisk 1 large egg in a small bowl and mix into the crumb mixture until just incorporated.
Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a firm, even layer.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup of orange juice, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Cook until the cranberries are soft and the mixture has thickened.
Spread the cranberry mixture evenly over the crust in the baking pan.
Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the cranberry layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
