Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs. Cut the ribs into individual pieces or leave them whole, depending on your preference. Season the ribs generously with salt and black pepper.

2
Prepare the glaze ingredients

Mince the garlic cloves and grate the ginger.

3
Make the glaze

In a small saucepan, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and five-spice powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the glaze is smooth.

4
Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

5
Roast the ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in a large roasting pan or on a baking sheet lined with foil. Cover the pan tightly with foil and roast the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours.

6
Baste the ribs with glaze

Remove the foil from the roasting pan and brush the ribs generously with the prepared glaze. Return the ribs to the oven and continue roasting, uncovered, for an additional 30-45 minutes, basting with the glaze every 10-15 minutes, until the ribs are tender and caramelized.

7
Let the ribs rest

Remove the glazed pork ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

8
Serve

Serve the glazed pork ribs hot, with any remaining glaze drizzled over the top. Enjoy with your favorite side dishes, such as coleslaw or roasted vegetables.
