Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Brew strong hibiscus tea

Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat. Add hibiscus tea bags to the hot water. Steep for 5-7 minutes to create a strong concentrate. The longer steeping time will create a more vibrant color and stronger flavor.

2
Remove tea bags

Remove tea bags from the water. Gently squeeze the tea bags against the side of the saucepan with a spoon to extract maximum flavor.

3
Sweeten the concentrate

While the tea is still hot, add honey and stir until completely dissolved. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon, stirring to combine. Allow to cool slightly.

4
Heat the milk

In a separate saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. Alternatively, use a milk frother or the steam wand on an espresso machine to heat and froth the milk.

5
Froth the milk (optional)

If you don't have a frother or steam wand, use a whisk or immersion blender to create foam. Whisk vigorously or blend until the milk is frothy.

6
Assemble the latte

Divide the hibiscus tea concentrate between two mugs, using about 1/4 cup per mug. Slowly pour the hot milk into each mug, holding back the foam with a spoon.

7
Add foam

Spoon the milk foam on top of each latte. The hibiscus tea will create a beautiful gradient effect as it mixes with the milk.

8
Garnish (optional)

Sprinkle a small amount of additional cinnamon on top of the foam.

9
Serve immediately

Serve while hot. The drink can be stirred before drinking to fully incorporate the hibiscus flavor throughout.
