Prepare the dough
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Heat milk and 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan until warm (110-115°F). Add to dry ingredients along with eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead and let rise
Knead dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
Prepare filling
In a bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll out dough
Punch down dough. Roll into an 18x12-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Spread remaining 1/4 cup softened butter over dough. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over butter.
Shape rolls
Roll up dough tightly from the long side. Cut into 12 equal rolls. Place rolls in a greased 13x9-inch pan. Cover and let rise 30 minutes until nearly doubled.
Bake rolls
Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake 20-25 minutes until lightly browned. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
Make frosting
In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Frost rolls
Spread frosting over warm rolls. Serve warm.
