Read instructions and get ready to cook
Prepare ginger
Peel the ginger root and cut it into thin slices.
Boil ginger
In a medium saucepan, combine sliced ginger with water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Simmer ginger
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Prepare lemon
While the ginger simmers, wash the lemon and cut it in half.
Squeeze lemon
Squeeze the juice from both halves of the lemon.
Strain ginger
Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the ginger water into a bowl. Discard the ginger slices.
Add sweetener
