Read instructions and get ready to cook
Cook the bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled, roughly chop the bacon.
Prepare the potatoes
Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1-inch cubes. Place the potato cubes in a large pot and cover them with cold water.
Cook the potatoes
Bring the pot of potatoes to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
Mash the potatoes
Add the butter, heavy cream, maple syrup, salt, and black pepper to the pot with the potatoes. Using a potato masher or hand mixer, mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
Add bacon and serve
Stir in 3/4 of the chopped bacon into the mashed potatoes. Transfer the Maple Bacon Mashed Potatoes to a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining chopped bacon. Serve hot.
