Read instructions and get ready to cook
Preheat oven & prepare baking dish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and line with parchment paper.
Melt butter and chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until smooth.
Mix sugar and eggs
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
Add chocolate mixture and vanilla
Gradually stir the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Prepare mascarpone mixture
In a separate bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
Pour brownie batter into baking dish
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Swirl mascarpone mixture into brownie batter
Drop spoonfuls of the mascarpone mixture onto the brownie batter. Using a knife, gently swirl the mascarpone mixture into the batter to create a marbled effect.
Bake the brownies
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
Cool and serve
Allow the brownies to cool in the baking dish for at least 20 minutes before cutting into 16 squares. Enjoy!
