Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the vegetables

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves.

2
Prepare the herbs

Finely chop the fresh parsley leaves.

3
Mix the meatball ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

4
Form the meatballs

Using wet hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a plate.

5
Brown the meatballs

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.

6
Prepare the sauce

In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and dried basil. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.

7
Simmer the meatballs

Return the browned meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

8
Serve

Serve the meatballs and sauce hot over your favorite cooked pasta or in sandwich rolls. Enjoy!
