Prepare the ingredients
Finely chop the onion, tomatoes, and green chili. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
Clean and chop fenugreek leaves
Wash the fenugreek leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
Cut the paneer
Cut the paneer into small cubes, approximately 1/2 inch in size.
Heat oil and add cumin seeds
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 30 seconds.
Sauté onions
Add the chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
Add ginger, garlic, and chili
Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Cook tomatoes
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy, about 5 minutes.
Add spices
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
Add fenugreek leaves
Add the chopped fenugreek leaves and cook for 3-4 minutes until they wilt.
Add paneer and water
Add the paneer cubes and water. Stir gently to combine.
Simmer
Cover the pan and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes on low heat.
Add garam masala
Sprinkle garam masala over the curry and gently mix.
Serve
Remove from heat and serve hot with rice or Indian bread.
