Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2
Prepare the bread loaf

Using a serrated knife, cut a long, oval-shaped hole in the top of the French bread loaf, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. Carefully remove the bread from the center, creating a boat-like shape. Place the hollowed-out bread loaf on a baking sheet.

3
Add the sauce and cheese

Spread the pizza sauce evenly inside the bread boat. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

4
Prepare the toppings

Chop the green bell pepper and red onion into small pieces. Arrange the pepperoni slices, chopped green bell pepper, and chopped red onion over the cheese.

5
Add the seasonings

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture over the edges of the bread boat.

6
Add the remaining cheese

Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the toppings.

7
Bake and serve

Bake the Pizza Bread Boat for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is crispy around the edges. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
