Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Thaw the puff pastry

Thaw the puff pastry sheet according to the package instructions. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2
Prepare the salmon

Rinse the salmon fillet under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Remove any bones, if necessary.

3
Make the herb mixture

In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, chopped fresh dill, chopped fresh parsley, minced garlic clove, zest of the lemon, salt, and black pepper.

4
Spread the herb mixture

Place the salmon fillet on a lined baking sheet. Spread the herb mixture evenly over the top of the salmon.

5
Wrap the salmon in puff pastry

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to a size that will fully wrap around the salmon fillet. Place the salmon, herb side down, in the center of the puff pastry. Fold the pastry over the salmon, sealing the edges by pressing them together with a fork.

6
Brush with egg wash

In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the beaten egg over the top and sides of the puff pastry.

7
Bake the puff pastry salmon

Place the wrapped salmon on the lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and the salmon is cooked through.

8
Serve

Remove the puff pastry salmon from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Cut into 4 equal portions and serve hot. Enjoy the flaky, tender salmon and the crisp, buttery puff pastry!
