Read instructions and get ready to cook
Press the tofu
Drain the tofu and press it between two plates with a weight on top for 10-15 minutes to remove excess liquid.
Cut the tofu
Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
Prepare the broccoli
Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
Prepare the sauce ingredients
Mince the garlic cloves and grate the ginger. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until the cornstarch is dissolved.
Cook the tofu
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the wok and set aside.
Stir-fry the broccoli
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and are crisp-tender.
Add garlic and ginger
Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes to the wok. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the sauce and tofu
Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and stir to coat the broccoli. Return the cooked tofu to the wok and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and the tofu is heated through.
Serve hot
Serve the tofu and broccoli stir-fry hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
