Banana Foster is a classic New Orleans dessert that combines caramelized bananas with a rich, buttery sauce and a hint of rum. The bananas are sautéed in a mixture of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until they're tender and coated in a luscious caramel. A splash of rum is added for a boozy kick, and the dessert is often served over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast of warm and cold.

Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise, then crosswise into halves.
Melt butter and add sugar
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add cinnamon and bananas
Stir in the ground cinnamon. Place the bananas in the pan, cut side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to caramelize.

Carefully flip the bananas and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Pour in the dark rum and let it simmer for about 30 seconds.
