Steps
Read instructions and get ready to cook
Slice the beef
Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4-inch thick.
Prepare the vegetables
Cut the bell peppers into 1-inch squares. Thinly slice the onion. Mince the garlic cloves and ginger.
Make the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until the cornstarch is dissolved. Set aside.
Cook the beef
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the vegetables
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the bell peppers, onion, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry until the vegetables are crisp-tender, about 4-5 minutes.
Combine the ingredients
Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
Serve and enjoy
Serve the Beef with Bell Peppers hot, over steamed rice if desired.
