Marinate the chicken
Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix yogurt, 1 tsp garam masala, turmeric, cumin, 1 tsp salt. Add chicken, coat well. Chill 30 min.
Prepare the sauce base
Finely chop onion. Mince garlic and ginger. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, sauté until soft, 5 min.
Add spices
Stir in remaining garam masala, paprika, cayenne, 1 tsp salt. Cook until fragrant, 1 min.
Add tomato and chicken
Add tomato puree. Simmer 10 min. Stir in marinated chicken with yogurt. Simmer until chicken is cooked through, 15 min.
Finish the dish
Stir in heavy cream and lemon juice. Simmer 5 min more. Taste, adjust salt. Serve hot.
