Read instructions and get ready to cook
Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray the rack with non-stick cooking spray.
Prepare the Wings
Pat chicken wings dry thoroughly with paper towels.
Make Cajun Dry Rub
In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and 1 teaspoon salt.
Prepare Baking Mixture
In a large bowl, combine baking powder and remaining 1 teaspoon salt.
Coat Wings with Baking Mixture
Add dried wings to the bowl with baking powder mixture and toss until evenly coated.
Season with Cajun Rub
Sprinkle the Cajun spice rub over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
Arrange Wings on Rack
Place the seasoned wings on the prepared wire rack, skin side up, leaving space between each wing.
Bake Wings
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Flip Wings
Flip the wings over and continue baking for another 15 minutes.
Flip Again and Finish Baking
Flip the wings again (skin side up) and bake for a final 10 minutes until skin is crispy and golden brown.
Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince garlic cloves.
Start BBQ Sauce
While wings are baking, heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Cook Garlic
Add minced garlic to the oil and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add Sauce Ingredients
Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, and molasses to the saucepan.
Simmer Sauce
Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
Prepare Large Bowl
Place a large clean bowl next to the stove for tossing the wings.
Transfer Wings to Bowl
When wings are done baking, immediately transfer them to the large bowl.
Add BBQ Sauce
Pour the warm Cajun BBQ sauce over the hot wings.
Toss Wings
Gently toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the sauce.
Serve
Transfer the sauced wings to a serving platter and serve immediately while hot.
