Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the Steak Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

2
Form the Steaks

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and form into oval patties.

3
Cook the Steaks

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.

4
Prepare the Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add butter. Once melted, add thinly sliced onion and mushrooms. Cook until the onions are translucent and mushrooms are golden, about 5 minutes.

5
Make the Gravy

Sprinkle the cooked onions and mushrooms with cornstarch. Stir to coat. Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.

6
Combine and Serve

Return the steaks to the skillet with the gravy. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Serve hot.
