Cut the cheese

Cut the mozzarella cheese into 3/4-inch thick sticks, about 3-4 inches long. You should have about 16 sticks.

Set up the breading station

Place the flour in a shallow dish. In another dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, mix the Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the cheese sticks

Dredge each mozzarella stick in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip the floured stick into the beaten eggs, then coat it with the seasoned breadcrumbs. Place the breaded sticks on a plate or baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining cheese sticks.

Chill the breaded sticks

Place the breaded mozzarella sticks in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to help the coating adhere and prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.

Heat the oil

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the mozzarella sticks

Working in batches, carefully place the chilled mozzarella sticks into the hot oil. Fry them for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the fried sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
