Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the baking dish

Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, allowing the excess to hang over the sides.

2
Cook the tahini and sugar

In a large saucepan, combine the tahini and sugar over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and turns a light caramel color, about 10-15 minutes.

3
Add the chocolate and flavorings

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

4
Pour into the baking dish

Pour the halva mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.

5
Chill the halva

Allow the halva to cool to room temperature, then cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

6
Cut and serve

Using the overhanging parchment paper, lift the chilled halva out of the baking dish. Cut it into 16 equal squares. Serve and enjoy your delicious Dark Chocolate Halva!
