Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the pomegranates

Cut the pomegranates in half across the equator.

2
Extract the seeds

Hold each pomegranate half over a bowl, cut side down. Using a wooden spoon, tap the skin firmly to release the seeds (arils) into the bowl. Remove and discard any white pith that falls into the bowl.

3
Juice the seeds

Transfer the pomegranate seeds to a blender. Pulse a few times to break up the seeds, then blend on high speed until smooth, about 1 minute.

4
Strain the juice

Place a fine-mesh strainer over a pitcher or bowl. Pour the blended pomegranate mixture through the strainer, pressing on the solids with a spoon or rubber spatula to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.

5
Serve

Pour the pomegranate juice into glasses and serve immediately. If desired, chill the juice before serving or serve over ice.
