Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the shrimp

Peel and devein 1 1/2 lbs of large shrimp, leaving the tails on. Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.

2
Cook the pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 12 oz of linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water.

3
Prepare the garlic

Mince 8 garlic cloves.

4
Sauté the garlic

In a large skillet, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

5
Cook the shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

6
Add wine and lemon

Pour 1/2 cup of white wine into the skillet and squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the shrimp. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened.

7
Prepare the parsley

Finely chop 1/4 cup of fresh parsley.

8
Combine ingredients

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the shrimp and toss to coat evenly, adding some of the reserved pasta cooking water if needed to thin the sauce. Stir in the chopped parsley.

9
Serve and enjoy

Serve the Garlic Shrimp Scampi hot, garnished with additional parsley and red pepper flakes if desired. Enjoy your delicious and aromatic meal!
