Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Drain and press tofu

Drain the tofu and press it between two plates with a weight on top for 10-15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2
Cut tofu

Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.

3
Coat tofu

In a large bowl, gently toss the tofu cubes with the cornstarch until evenly coated.

4
Prepare glaze ingredients

Peel and mince the garlic and ginger.

5
Make glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes.

6
Fry tofu

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the cornstarch-coated tofu cubes and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

7
Glaze tofu

Reduce the heat to low and pour the glaze over the tofu. Cook, stirring gently, until the glaze thickens and coats the tofu, about 2-3 minutes.

8
Serve

Transfer the glazed tofu to a serving dish and serve hot over rice or vegetables.
