Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

2
Prepare the turkey

Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

3
Prepare the glaze

In a small saucepan, combine the honey and unsalted butter. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the mixture is well combined.

4
Prepare the seasoning

Mince the garlic cloves. Remove the leaves from the thyme stems and finely chop them. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper.

5
Season the turkey

Rub the seasoning mixture all over the turkey, including the cavity.

6
Roast the turkey

Place the seasoned turkey on a rack in a large roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).

7
Glaze the turkey

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the honey butter glaze all over the turkey every 10 minutes, creating a golden and crispy skin.

8
Let the turkey rest

Remove the turkey from the oven and tent it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and tender result.

9
Carve and serve

Carve the Honey Glazed Whole Turkey and arrange the slices on a serving platter. Serve hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes and the pan juices.
