Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Cook the noodles

Cook the buckwheat noodles according to the package instructions until tender. Drain and rinse the noodles under cold water until completely cooled. Set aside.

2
Prepare the beef

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the beef sirloin and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove the beef from the pot and let it cool slightly, then slice it thinly against the grain.

3
Boil the eggs

In the same pot of boiling water, add the eggs and cook for 7 minutes. Remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, peel and halve the eggs.

4
Prepare the vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber. Peel and julienne the Korean pear and radish.

5
Make the broth

In a large bowl, combine the beef broth, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic cloves, gochugaru, and sesame oil. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Chill the broth in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

6
Assemble the dish

Divide the chilled buckwheat noodles among 4 serving bowls. Pour the chilled broth over the noodles. Top each bowl with sliced beef, halved eggs, sliced cucumber, julienned Korean pear, and radish.

7
Serve

Serve the Korean cold noodles immediately, garnished with additional gochugaru and sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy the refreshing and flavorful combination of textures and tastes in this traditional Korean dish!
