Zest 2 of the limes and set the zest aside. Juice all 4 limes, yielding about 1/2 cup of lime juice.

Mix lime juice and condensed milk

In a large bowl, whisk together the lime juice and 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk until well combined.

In a small bowl, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it stand for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to soften.
