Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
Mix the dry ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Separate the eggs
Separate the egg whites and yolks into two large bowls.
Beat the egg yolks
Add 3/4 cup of granulated sugar to the egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
Beat the egg whites
Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
Combine the mixtures
Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the flour mixture until just combined. Fold in the egg white mixture until no streaks remain.
Bake the cake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream.
Soak the cake
