Steps

Read instructions and get ready to cook

1
Prepare the bananas

Peel the saba bananas and slice each one in half lengthwise.

2
Prepare the jackfruit

Drain the jackfruit and cut it into thin strips.

3
Assemble the turon

Lay a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place a sliced banana half and a few strips of jackfruit in the center of the wrapper. Sprinkle brown sugar over the banana and jackfruit.

4
Wrap the turon

Fold the bottom edge of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides. Roll the wrapper tightly to enclose the filling completely. Seal the edge with water. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

5
Fry the turon

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium heat. Carefully place the wrapped turon in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

6
Serve

Serve the turon hot, optionally sprinkled with additional brown sugar or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
